PRINCIPAL
Cody Knop is a graduate of Iowa State University where he received a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 2007. Prior to founding Knop Architects in 2021, Cody was a Project Architect in the award-winning architecture offices of Lake Flato Architects in San Antonio, Texas as well as Substance Architecture and Jeffrey Morgan Architecture Studio in Des Moines, Iowa. Cody has over 15 years of experience in designing a wide range of building types including single-family residential, commercial, higher education, hospitality, adaptive reuse, and mixed-use projects. Throughout his career, he has focused on executing his client’s goals and vision with an attention to craft, rigor, and elegance which has led to numerous state, regional and national award winning projects, including the Blue Lake Retreat project, which was awarded a National Housing Design Excellence Award in 2017.
mike killeen, aia

Mike Killeen is a graduate of Iowa State University where he received a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 2008. Prior to joining Knop Architects in 2023, Mike worked in the award-winning architecture offices of Substance Architecture in Des Moines, Iowa as well as Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and Gluck+ in Chicago, Illinois. Coupled with his background in construction, Mike has more than 15 years of experience in designing a wide range of building types including single-family residential, high-rise, commercial, corporate interiors, higher education, and mixed-use projects. His passion for design and rigorous attention to detail serve to reinforce the conceptual underpinnings of each project and provide thoughtful and elegant solutions to achieving his client’s goals. Mike’s approach to his craft has led to his projects receiving numerous state and regional design awards as well as recognition in various publications.
jobeth hancock, assoc aia
ARCHITECTURAL ASSOCIATE
JoBeth Hancock is a graduate of Kansas State University where she received a Master of Architecture degree in 2023. Prior to joining Knop Architects in 2023, JoBeth worked in the award-winning architecture office of Bohlin Cywinski Jackson in Seattle, Washington, where she gained experience in single-family residential projects. She strives to achieve client goals with rigor and grace, approaching each project with precision, thoughtfulness, and a passion for sustainable solutions rooted in local context.
